The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: Unconstitutional Slop

Better than Stanley Dollars.

Forget about the stupid pre-funding pension argument. Nobody should be willing to accept the premise that the USPS is self-sustaining. Itā€™s a government service.

The thing is, nobody has to ā€˜do anythingā€™ to punish them for sabotaging the Postal Service. In real life there are literally thousands of things that just work because the Postal Service exists, and they do not have any contingency plan for what happens when the Postal Service stops working.

Letā€™s take the two most obvious examples: checks and medicine. Thereā€™s probably 100B in checks in the mail on any given day inside the US making their way from one zip code to another. At least. Letā€™s say you slow down mail service for 7-10 days in an area. What you just did is create a significant amount of chaos through unintended consequences.

Itā€™s chemo to shave your head. Yes you can do it, and it might even do what you want it to do, but the negative consequences will vastly outweigh whatever you could have gotten out of it. Itā€™s like slowing down COVID testing in the US and thus preventing contact tracing from doing its thing. Itā€™s just a wildly idiotic thing to do any way you look at it and it wonā€™t be politically profitable. Itā€™ll be somewhere between a little bit bad (if they give up on it like tomorrow) to utterly catastrophic (if they actually create large scale Postal Service outages that impact large numbers of people).

EDIT: Oh and just a quick heads upā€¦ his executive orders probably wonā€™t work either. Heā€™ll sign them but the WH will have to actually execute his orders and they donā€™t have 10 working neurons in that whole building at this point because the second you get 11 working neurons you realize that you could go to fucking prison and snap quit.

So amazing. I figure this has to give McConnell
a bit of a shiver.

Demanding his biggest donor do more. Lol.

Post office is far more important to old people than young people and old people in rural areas get far and away the most benefit. Leopards eat faces.

People donā€™t take bullshit reasons for things as well when they are personally being impacted. You fuck up the Post Office and stop a bunch of rural olds from getting their checks and their meds and some decent % of them will figure out you did it and take it personally.

Even before this latest stuff the post office was struggling due to Covid related staffing issues.

I had a package go from houston to a mile from my house in 8 hours, then it sat there for six days. They had a massive back up at the local sort facility.

I had put in a request for help and they also contacted me long after it was over.

Onto a more current USPS experience, I have lived at my house for little over a year. The mail arrives every day between 2:30pm and 3:30pm. Waiting for a package yesterday the mail came at 6:30pm. Given some of the changes and how they do overtime now I was concerned I might not get delivery at all.

It is a stupid ideal that the post office has to perform like it is on the NASDAQ.

What happens when her signature on the form attesting it is her signature does not match?

This is the reality. The post office has managed to both be affordable AND cover a massive percent of their operating costs. It should be a beacon of public service that is an example for other programs.

Lol republicans.

Going to be cool when Amazon cancels prime service in rural areas because the USPS can no longer effectively do last mile. Those bumpkins are gong to feel it from all directions. I lived in an extremely rural area a few years ago and USPS delivered almost all Amazon orders out there.

Some might cry that is just the government subsidizing amazon but no, it is providing a very beneficial service to tax payers.

I have no idea. She filled the thing out and sealed it before I had a chance to look at it closely.

She says she just had to attest it was her signature. Iā€™m guessing itā€™d be easier to arrest her if it was indeed a fraudulent vote?

I"m guessing since it came to our registered address it would raise her alarm if it arrived and she hadnā€™t actually voted.

I live in a small city and last mile is still almost always by USPS unless itā€™s a huge/heavy package. For the past 6 months everything has taken so long to get here Iā€™m not even sure why I bother paying for Prime.

Heā€™s going too early and heā€™s getting ratted out. The optics of this literally couldnā€™t be worse.

Damn this guy is a world class masher of buttons.

Yeah if anything Trump pulling his shenanigans ā€œtoo earlyā€ just means there will be 500 other insane things that happen between now and the election to distract people.
