I assume most states that allow mail-in voting have this, but our ballot envelopes are bar-coded and can be tracked online to make sure itās received and counted.
Even so, because of potential shenanigans at the Post Office, Iām probably going to end up bypassing the mail and hand-delivering my ballot to wherever itās supposed to go as early as humanly possible.
I would love to be able to offer to deliver ballots for friends and especially neighbors. āI know youāre all busy with work and stuff, but Iām taking in my ballot on Friday so if you have any completed and sealed ballots, Iād be happy to deliver them for you.ā
Unfortunately if I do this, Iāll apparently be guilty of āballot-harvestingā, a felony. The AZ law only went into effect in 2016 and was overturned by the 9th circuit earlier this year, but it seems to be still in effect while the AG appeals to SCOTUS.
This whole situation really grinds my gears. The best I can do is make sure everybodyās on the Early Voter List and encourage them to vote early.

i voted in my local election absentee a couple weeks ago. thereās a special red mailbox specifically for the city clerkās office and i was able to drive right up to it. way better than voting the old fashioned way

My county has multiple ballot dropboxes scattered throughout it, but weāve had all mail-in voting in Washington since 2015ish?
