The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: Unconstitutional Slop

Let me rephrase. What makes you think that street protests are enough to save us?

There’s a lot of possible outcomes. The risk is that everyone is framing this as “what law gives him the power to do that” instead of “who’s going to stop him”.

Don’t underestimate the possibility of a simple grass roots insurrection as well. For example if Trump keeps saying the election is fake news, and tells his cult members not to vote, what happens if they don’t vote? This outcome requires no legislative action from Federal or state governments. Trump will claim no election happened because “half” the country didn’t recognize it. The question isn’t what law gives him the right to do that. The question is who specifically is going to remove him from office? And how?

They’re only buying in Ohio markets that reach Michigan and Pennsylvania. If they win Ohio it’s already a landslide for Biden and they know it. No senate race there either, so no down ballot benefit.

Just setting the stage for “3Q #s up 40% from 2Q!” on 10/30/20 right before the election.

Right and trump wouldn’t be president either. What happens if they show up anyway?

Laws matter only to the extent they are enforced. Who is going to enforce this? Who comes in on January 20 and ensures President Pelosi enters the white house and carries out her duties, and who prevents the Georgia congressional delegation from walking into the house and voting if the south just doesn’t hold elections?

Once Biden is sworn in, Trump is no longer president. It doesn’t matter if he’s holed up in the WH surrounded by MAGA turds.

Obama eulogizing Lewis.

It doesn’t matter?!?!?!?!,

No. Because he’s not POTUS once Biden is sworn in. He’s just a vagrant living in the White House.

He is no longer president according to who?

If Biden is sworn in, how is Trump still president?

A patriot in the Secret Service?

Maybe. We’d be in a totally unprecedented situation and the state legislatures have the power to certify elections, right? States tend to get a lot of leeway as to election procedure, don’t they?

Sure because they’ll be written by the Pelosi’s of the world. The people paying attention will be like “Learned lessons? Lol maybe 10% of us did.”

Like what happens if Putin sends in 1M obviously fake ballots to each of PA, MI, WI, AZ, FL, GA, etc and they’re all Biden votes?

The Republican base is flipping the fuck out constantly over the latest Benghazi. Imagine the insanity if something like that happened. What’s stopping it?

I’m saying the military will stop him. This would also be the best time for republican congresspeeps to sever ties with Trump after getting max value.

I honestly haven’t seen one single poster on this forum denying the fact that the damage done will be massive.

Because “being president” isn’t some inherent thing that gives you magical powers once you’re sworn in. If half the country, including the vast majority of law enforcement and the military, doesn’t recognize Biden as president, then he’s not fucking president.

You’re doing the law bro thing where you’re just reciting what the law says, but not responding to the question of who enforces that law and where does the power of the presidency (or Congress, for that matter) actually come from.

The part where we don’t back down when they start shooting tear gas and instead do the opposite.

Counterpoint: Trump is a pussy and won’t do shit.

Do you guys seriously think Trump will refuse to physically leave the White House while Biden is knocking on the door trying to move in? When Biden gets sworn in at noon on Jan 20th, Trump is no longer the president. It doesn’t matter if he’s physically at the White House.

It’s time for everyone to decide what they’re going to do in these scenarios, and if you want to live in a free country the correct answers either involve leaving the US or stockpiling things we liberals don’t like stockpiling.
