The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: Unconstitutional Slop

Do those 26 Republican states make up more than 270 EVs?

How is Trump going to sign bills into law if Biden is sworn in as president?

If any of this comes to pass, I think Riverman’s scenario is likely to happen.

The same way Jeanine Añez signs bills into law in Bolivia after Evo Morales was sworn in as president.

If EVs were handed out based on Governors, it would be a 283-255 D victory.

Everyone who was paying attention should have already been thinking about these questions at least a year ago. Arguably, they should have been thinking about it since the Dubya years.

This isn’t Bolivia FFS.

That’s one hope. Jaime Lannister to the rescue.

The military leaders hate Trump. He is nakedly controlled by Vladimir freaking Putin. They’re not going to ignore a Supreme Court decision saying Biden is President, which I think is likely as long as RBG doesn’t die.

Well, if the election fuckery happens, I sure hope the Cascadia folks are in hyperdrive trying to make that a reality.

Yeah
you’re in denial. We’ve gotten very very corrupt over the last 30-40 years. In a lot of ways we’re one of the most corrupt places on Earth. Our wealth is the only thing that makes us different than the poorer countries.

This is a strong candidate, but “the military” seems a bit vague. We’re depending on someone in the military to defy orders and that’s pretty risky. I really don’t know enough to say old this is reasonable.

I have fantasies of boogaloo boys taking to Pennsylvania Avenue to defend Trump and military leaders saying, “Fuck that.”

Alright, I’m in denial. Biden gets sworn in and Trump continues to sign laws while surrounded by MAGA bikers.

Lol this is wrong in like every way. They won’t have gotten max value yet and they wouldn’t recognize it if they had.

Dude in this scenario bills and laws don’t matter. The laws are what the guy who the people with the most guns report to says they are.

More like Biden shows up to be sworn in and 25 dudes in fatigues with no badges throw him into an unmarked minivan that speeds off. Trump announces that Biden attempted a coup and it was avoided.

On one hand I think all of the Donald Trump dictator scenarios are pretty far fetched. On the other hand I think if you told any of us 6 months ago that we would have secret Trump police abducting people off the streets in multiple US cities and taking them to undisclosed locations or that we would have a raging pandemic that is going to kill hundreds of thousands of Americans with basically zero federal response that would have seemed crazy at the time too.

We are so so far down the road to something truly horrible happening here and by the time it gets to that point there won’t be anything left to do about it.

I can understand the viewpoint that this isn’t as bad as it looks, or might turn out better.

I can’t understand looking at the last four years and then posting that viewpoint all condescending and breathless like using words like “JFC” and “FFS” and “magically becomes law”. Get a clue.

Thanks for this, it’s as clear a picture of “who will stop him” as I’ve ever seen.

So we’re counting specifically on the Supreme Court. Dicey, but at least they are real people and not something abstract like “the system”. Out of curiosity, of the Supreme Court issued some kind of ruling on the legitimacy of the election, how would that compel action by the military? What office specifically in the US military would look at that and say “it’s my job to enforce that”?

It’s less far fetched than someone else with a gun standing up to him. He’s going to push this the whole way.
