Ugh don’t even get me started. I had a bad beat at the Trop in AC. Had quad 6’s. Lost to quad 9’s. Jackpot was something like $130K. Only one problem. I was playing a tournament and it only counted in cash games. Floor Manager felt bad and gave me a free hotel room.

I used to go there in college because the rooms were $19.99. And we had as many as 10 people staying there. Also being under 21 didn’t seem to be a problem.

Did he put in a raise pf so you thought he had AA? With the T and 9 blockers you should have realized he has to have the straight flush to put in all that action. This is a bad beat, sure, but you will go broke if you can’t make this fold

Never heard that explanation of 86 before. Quick google got me a half dozen theories on the origin of the phrase. From a speakeasy at 86 Bedford in New York to soup pots holding 85 cups of soup so the 86th is out of luck.
