If it was covering 2018, then it might have entertainment value (it doesnât). If itâs covering 2020, not sure what HBO is thinking. Based on watching several of their documentaries itâs almost like they donât even have a legal department anymore.
I mean Thomas Massie and some guy I didnât recognize are the other ârenegadesâ. It doesnât seem to be a hit piece to me which is really disappointing for HBO. Although I guess the writing was on the wall with the last couple seasons of GOT sucking as well as most of their recent offerings. I am finally watching Westworld S3 and pretty surprised how relevant and subversive that show got. Itâs like an entirely different show from S1 tbh.
Actually I was told by a Jewish woman that it was not really acceptable for gentiles to call Jewish people âJews.â Youâre supposed to say âJewish people.â She said most of the time you wonât get corrected but that it is somewhat cringe-inducing.
Good lord, the amount of money the GOP has managed to pillage from a state like Ohio is staggering. First ECOT stole $200M and now weâre shipping a BILLION DOLLARS to the nuclear industry. A measly $60M in bribes to get the bill through is chump change.
All of the charges are tied to what federal prosecutors describe as a criminal enterprise dedicated to securing a bailout for two nuclear power plants that cost Ohio utility ratepayers $1 billion.
Somewhat true. Iâm a Jew. I prefer referring to myself as a Jew as opposed to a Jewish Person. I feel like thereâs slightly more of a connotation of religion to âJewish Personâ and Iâm not at all religious. And I donât mind being somewhat more coarse about it, which âJewâ is. And yeah, antisemites are more likely to say âJewâ, so itâs maybe a little challenging/defiant or something for a Jew to use it. I donât think Iâm expressing that exactly right, but something along those lines. Perhaps also somewhat challenging the idea that Jews have just melted into the white population.
This was laughably obvious corruption when it happened.
Opponents then tried to put it on the ballot for a statewide vote, but were blocked by (surprise) the GOP attorney general delaying the process so they couldnât gather enough signatures.
This, basically. âJewâ is used in a derogatory tone in a way that âJewish personâ or âJewishâ is not. Now, we Jews can say it, but coming from non-Jews, it can sound bad, even if itâs not meant to. I mean, shit, when my college roommates and I would make fun of each other, never did they say something like, âWell, youâre Jewish.â Theyâd say, âWell, youâre a Jew.â
Summary: Itâs too easy for âJewâ to come out of someoneâs mouth as âJeeeww.â
EDIT: Iâve always thought âJewishâ sounded weird, like I was âJew-like.â Iâm Jew-ish.
I grew up in a place with a lot of Jewish people, and âJewishâ or âJewish peopleâ was always used. The times I heard it the other way was always derogatory. Basically every non-Jewish person I hear using the word âJewâ is some sort of weirdo, deplorable, or both.
Senate banking committee just approved a Trump campaign stooge and complete hack to the Fed. The woman wants to return to the gold standard and now advocates lower interest rates after saying the Obama fed cut then too much.
Her hearing was so disastrous 3 GOP senators initially said they couldnât vote for her. Spoiler: they all voted for her. 13-12 party line vote.
