The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: retweets WHITE POWER, condemns Black Lives Matter, regrets criminal justice reform

Single issue anti abortion voters arent the Republicans being targeted. It’s the college educated suburbanites who took econ 101 their freshman year and think “taxes bad, I want someone who will run the govt like a business” chodes that constantly flip flop like morons.

Fair enough. Now I am going to move the goalposts and state that college educate suburbanites are terrified of the protests and antifa. They will also be voting for Trump again. I’m very pessimistic. I live around the very people who shriek about one of the two issues on a daily basis.

It’s going to come down to whether Biden energizes the Dem party faithful, IMO. Youngs are gonna be too busy/COVID ridden to vote. Boomers will vote Trump in droves because LAW AND ORDER works like a snake charmer on a cobra.

Nah, they’ve all put a BLM border around their Facebook profile photo. Sure, they are scared of antifa and lawlessness, but they largely dislike Trump. Biden is a good candidate for them. He’s largely inoffensive and not a scary commie like Bernie. It’s not a huge voting block though. It’s one Trump abandoned in favor of turning out non degreed whites. I’m not sure it’s a long term winning stratefy for the GOP, but all they have to do is run another Romney next cycle and the suburbs will come crawling back.

I’m fine with the Lincoln Project and think it’s generally a good thing run by well meaning people.

Maybe I’m wrong, but then I’m wrong in a way that gives people some charity.

Koss: Serious question & not a troll, do you know anyone who has a BLM border that voted for Trump last time around? I’m thinking through your post and really trying to pin down these demographics on my n=1 experience, but I can’t place a single name of my FB contacts that have a BLM banner & voted for Trump. Your argument is credible but it “feels” like a super small demographic as you stated.

ETA: Obviously I can’t know for certain who voted for who. For that, I’d have to be a GOP operative. Boom.

Nah, they knew who Trump was 4 years ago. But I know at least a couple who sat out the election because of emailghazi shit. Biden is right up their alley. He’s your cool Uncle Joe from Scranton. They are desperately waiting for a moderate Republican to vote for.

The people who swing elections are the ones who watch Entertainment Tonight as a news show. If you convince them that Trump is unpopular, poisonous, and going to lose plenty of them will vote for Biden.

So like your friend admits republicans are stupid then? What is this self own? Yes Trump conned the shit out of him and his fellow republicans.

I guess my point is just that white college educated suburbanites can be a swing constituency, and they are one the GOP is abandoning. They are center left socially and center right economically. They are the Pete/Klob/Biden constituency. A GOP push towards the center will get some of them back.

Yeah, you were completely about the total shitshow for the last 3 1/2 years from day one.

You can envision a time line when Trump was an every day grifter who just stole as much as he wanted, never started going nuts onTwitter and just went along with the general flow - let the general levers pushed by the usual suspects and if he had, he’d be cruising to a second term. Luckily he actually turned out to be bat shit crazy and is a huge dog to get stomped - but there were a metric shit ton who hated Clinton with all sorts of reasons, and a fair number of them thought cozying up to Hillary didn’t obviously any sort of improvement over Trump. I voted for Clinton but I loathed her maybe 1% worse than the Orange idiot - I was wrong, but I understand especially in “casual” political types that they would take a flyer on a “successful businessman” instead of the same goddam group of turds squatting in the Beltway. What was evident now wasn’t obviously 3 1/2 years ago.

There’s so much division under the big tent that actually talking about issues would be a bad thing. The only thing everybody under the big tent can agree on is that Trump is bad. Running on that is the most unifying message one can come up with. Bringing forth any policy matters is going to lower turnout from one part of the spectrum or another.

The time will come where Biden will be forced to address it but it’s best to keep that as quiet as possible especially when Trump is doing all his work for him by self-destructing.

I could definitely be wrong but I think there’s immense value in just making fun of Trump. The whole reason suburban dipshits love him besides the racism is this totally mythical tough guy persona. I see no reason not to just straight up troll him. Make fun of his physical appearance, his inability to talk, his staggering ignorance. On these fronts I think the Lincoln Project ads are effective. Obviously the Biden campaign ads need to tell people why they should vote for Joe Biden, but those are aimed at a different audience.

Ok, you guys are persuading me. I’m so damn gun shy lol. Also, I always forget just how hated Hillary is/was.

ETA: Also agree that the troll trump gambit is the only effective tactic. I know this because I’ve started using it with deplorable and their heads explode. No logic required! Just call him bunker bitch and they go silent. Bullies, all of them!

Rick Wilson has said on Twitter that one reason they run ads in DC even though Virginia and Maryland are blue, is because it puts Trump on tilt. Trump then makes the campaign waste money on ads in DC rather than battleground states.

Like look at that Tulsa rally. OK is 100% voting Trump. They wasted money and time going there in the first place. Trump should be campaigning in 4-5 states. But no, he needs his ego stroked.

Yeah, the polls just don’t bear this out at all. He’s hemorrhaging college educated suburbanites at historic levels.

Making fun of his appearance and crowd size is probably more effective than engaging him on anything he’s ever done on policy issues. His vanity knows no limits.

Exactly. What I really want to see is Bloomberg carpet bomb on ANYTHING that implies that Trump is broke/stupid/etc. Just drive him crazy every goddam day - and he could cover the tab by checking behind his couch cushions.

Yes, but you’re an idiot, so taking any comment with a grain of salt.

i mean, you could say goodness is good, and I’d reject it as coming from and idiot.
