And yeah there are tons of democrats who have money. I think the whole myth started because in the 70s there was a lot of young people protesting and summer of love and shit which was super visible but that was still only a tiny fraction of the youth. There were still a TON of young racists who simply weren’t political yet.
Also a lot of the protesters against the war were probably conservative racists but were anti-war out of pure self benefit because they didn’t want to be drafted.
Like if we instituted the draft right now under Trump I bet a lot of draft age pro trumpers would switch to being democrats for awhile so they didn’t get drafted then switched back when they were no longer in harms way.
I have a ton of money and I’m trying very hard to elect progressives that will improve society at the expense of some of that money. Because, you know, it’s just money.
I have money but I plan on blowing all of it so I’m trying to make sure there’s a social safety net in place. Trying to get the timing right for max value, have to finishing blowing it just before things get better.
I also think its largely just a made up concept that people believe because it sounds right. I am disinclined to believe it but there is a lot of self bias involved, I am certainly more affluent at 43 than I was at 33, but I am much more liberal. Watching every core assertion of the right be directly contradicted by reality on my 30s kind of convinced me.

Also, I’m a millennial with a negative net worth who donates what I can to progressives and very likely will never vote GOP for any election ever. I have friends who have significant wealth (most in this category are 20+ years older than me) who are strongly liberal.
The “more conservative as you age” thing is a myth that is used to disregard young people opinions. Conservatives always have been so much better at messaging than Dems and this is just another instance of that.
Meanwhile awval and that dipshit who bet someone who had a higher salary after disclosing his own salary will be voting GOP for that sweet sweet $20 a week for life.

I remember waiting in life for over an hour numerous times when it first opened in Madison Square Park as a temporary location only in summers. Quality has naturally gone done as they expand, but still my go-to burger.
