Platform for what? They have a short form policy platform (tax cuts and subsidies for the rich are good) and a short form vision for their ideal society (double standards are a good thing and should be violently enforced).
I had a Croatian friend who said if you speak Croatian then you can speak 4 or 5 languages like Serbian. IANALinguist, but maybe Slovene is so similar to Croatian and Macedonian etc…that it could be true that she speaks 4 or 5 languages fluently.
Even though a lot of Croats and Serbs deny it, Croatian IS Serbian, they just use different alphabets.
Slovene is a different language though, but I am pretty sure someone of her age must have had access to Serbo-Croatian media, before 1990.
I am not sure about education in former Yugoslavia, but if she learned the language and the Kyrillic alphabet in school, she could say that she speaks Serbian and Croatian and only be deceiving and not lying.
Yup. Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian and Montenegrin are all dialects of Serbo-Croatian. I can understand most people speaking all of those. There are some different words for a few things and then it can get difficult depending on accents but they are pretty much the same
