US declared war on Germany and Germany lost the war. Therefore it was the mighty US army that won the war. No need to discuss further than that in USA #1 History classes.

I’ve always understood than the introduction of American tanks on the battlefield was a decisive factor for the allied forces to beat Germany in WW1
I mean I guess they won in in the sense that they joined super late when the allies had already worn Germany down and the American presence of fresh forces convinced them to surrender. It is like saying if you spend 3 days digging a hole and a buddy takes the final shovel full they dug the hole.
