Yeah it’s becoming very obvious that he’s going to keep committing crimes until someone stops him… mostly very publicly. The GOP Senators are about to take a VERY tough vote. I’m licking my chops. Either they alienate the Trumpkins by removing him or they let him stay and own every insane thing he does up to and including refusing to leave office after he gets rolled (and takes a lot of their jobs with him) in 2020.
In 2016 I thought he would never win because if necessary the GOP would sabotage his candidacy. I thought this because I (correctly it turns out) thought that they would see him winning as a greater threat to the party than him losing. Holy shit I don’t think I’ve ever been more right about anything.
A lot of you guys are despairing because it seems like nothing can stop this guy… but take heart. The election is in just over a year and he’s going to keep acting like a complete lunatic until then. This is the kind of thing that kills political parties. The turnout for 2020 is going to be insane. There won’t be a way to steal the election without it being incredibly obvious because he’s going to lose every state that isn’t deep red, where it’ll be close. He’ll lose the swing states by 10 points.
He’s also busy revealing how spineless and terrible the establishment politicians are, which is great for reforming the system as a whole. The damage he’s doing on a daily basis to the establishment would be worth it if so many people weren’t going to die because of it.
Hopefully the Kurds pick a more reliable ally than the US next time. I read somewhere this is the eighth time we’ve screwed them. Probably not the worst idea for the rest of our allies to start seeking other arrangements as well. Sucks for the US but we totally deserve it and public opinion has clearly collapsed for our super power status. Welcome to the fall of the Empire. Can we have good infrastructure, schools, and healthcare now?

If anyone thinks the military industrial complex in this country is going to help him stay in office after he loses in 2020 now after the shit he just pulled in Northern Syria… yeah you’re an idiot. But he IS an idiot so he’s going to try, which is such a blatant abuse of our entire system of government it might even shake a meaningful number of Trumpkins up enough that they reexamine their world view… and seriously 10 minutes of self doubt is all it would take for a lot of these people.
He’s driving the car and he’s heading for a cliff at top speed. That cliff is the 2020 election and his reaction to it (since he thinks probably correctly that he’s going to prison when he leaves office) and it’s a hard end date. He could theoretically hit a tree first and get removed, but the car he’s driving is the GOP and they are going to be very nearly totaled no matter where this trip ends now. It’s literally going too fast for this to end any other way and Trump can’t brake the car without going to jail even sooner… and since he literally only cares about himself that’s not ever going to happen.
Relax and try to tune out your sense of horror about what’s happening to the environment and the Kurds enough to enjoy the schadenfreude for the other Republican politicians. They’ve been making short term decisions (that have largely worked out because that’s how short term decision making works… you look like you’re winning while the long term risks pile up) for going on 30 years and the chickens are going to come home to roost literally any day now. And holy shit is this going to be a massive explosion.
Dude there are thousands of voting machines made by like fifty different vendors. And they aren’t everywhere. Please explain to me the logistics of actually stealing an election that is in fact a massive landslide… without it being too obvious and everyone knowing about it ten minutes after you did it.
How are you going to explain that ONLY the electronic machines are showing a massive win for Trump but literally every other type of voting is showing a massive loss?
You can only steal a really close election through direct vote rigging… and no amount of FB fake news is going to sway enough voters to move the needle on this one.
Stealing the election worked in 2016 because it was actually close. This isn’t going to be even a little close. They also didn’t actually fuck with the machines in 2016 they just ran a massive misinformation campaign. Misinformation campaigns don’t work as well when everyone knows it’s coming and are super outraged against the side doing the meddling.
In 2016 for instance they targeted black voters in an attempt to get them to not vote. Good luck with that after 4 years of Trump in 2020.
