I don’t talk to those people about politics anymore. Way too painful for all involved. I haven’t talked to the main person I’m thinking of about politics since mid 2017 when he was already horrified. I can’t imagine it’s gotten better for him.
This is a bigger threat to most of these guys than in normal collections cases, too, because these guys actually have assets you can go after.
Would also work if Putin was holding a 51% Rasmussen poll approval sign and Trump was handing Putin the bag of money

There is no goddamn way that rich people paying fines would be worse for their quality of life compared to jail time.
Reactionaries are motivated by fear and this shit just isn’t scary enough yet for comfortable, couch-dwelling whites mainlining the racism drip intravenously from an RG-6 cable. It’s compounded by the fact that they’re extremely simple–like supermarket vegetables–and can see zero moves ahead, so the panic doesn’t begin until something legit scary happens. Check out the Twitter reactions to this Syria news. It’s all shit like “we have no business there anyway.”
