Jacksonville is pretty conservative. When you get off I-95 in downtown Jacksonville, something like the first 5 cross streets you come to are named after Confederate solidiers/generals

Note that I am in favor of impeachment for Orange. Just thinking through ramifications.
A lot of alumni stay in the area. Gainesville itself is a small city. So like most cities, it’s liberal. But if you go 10 miles outside of the city lines, yea it’s deep red. But most places in the US are like that.

I grew up there and went to college there. It’s bearable if you’re white and straight and don’t mind pretending like you are church-going. There are shitty people everywhere, though. I live in south east Florida in one of the state’s supposed liberal bastions, and I interact with just as many people who are absolute shitbags down here. There’s a lot more diversity, which I really like. That’s the biggest difference, really. North Florida is really really white.
I’ve been told that the Florida Panhandle is really Southern Alabama.

If people think it’s a good idea for the SOS to be a national security threat QAnon follower then I say let them not convict Pompeo who should be a slam dunk to be impeached in the House (now if he wants to voluntarily show up to a hearing maybe he can avoid this, but good luck with that). We expect slightly more out of an SOS than a president, and the SOS is behind Veep, Speaker, and President Pro Tempore in the Senate in the line of succession. It’s pretty damn important they do something about this guy.
I agree with all of that. Just preparing myself for worst case nothing matters scenarios, but I understand that is sort of a self-defeating way to live. No problem if you want to drop it.
