That is their job dummy. Your job is not to use the government to investigate political opponents.
Like the first line defense is me too.

If youâre the type of person to get your hopes up, maybe. It feels different, but so have a lot of things so far.
All those things had sort of a âwe got himâ feeling, but so far theyâve all been effectively nothingburgers. I have no hope this wonât be one too. Although maybe itâs because Iâm a Detroit Lions fan. I go into every Sunday assuming a loss and then when the few wins do come along Iâm pleasantly surprised.
I have zero optimism that this moves the needle at all for Repubes.
This is whatâs going to happen. This will not cause Trumpâs support with Republicans to waver. It is going to really help Trump that Bidenâs sonâs 50k/month âjobâ is obviously corrupt. That will provide more than enough cover with Republican lawmakers and voters.
Thatâs because youâre not trying to put yourself in their shoes. Think about it like youâre them⌠and youâll see that this cannot go on. This dude has driven their whole party into a ditch and they know it.
Yes the base loves him⌠but heâs ruining their entire electoral strategy which hinges on low overall voter turnout. If he manages to piss off the liberals bad enough that they actually show up and vote they lose nearly everything.
âI heard you had a prosecutor who was very good and he was shut down and thatâs really unfair. A lot of people are talking about that, the way they shut your very good prosecutor down and you had some very bad people involved.â
This alone should be impeachable ignorance and incompetence.
I want to see them stand behind him if it comes out that he was involved in the unmasking of spies to Putin.
Disagree thatâs their entire electoral strategy. Itâs just one leg of a triad. The second leg is wedge issues like guns & abortion. The third leg, and where Trump is critical, is driving up the rural aggrieved white people vote. Demographic change is turning against the GOP, but they can cling to power even longer if they can keep turning out the midwest diner constituency.
Ditching Trump does nothing to help Rs 2020 election chances. 50+% of the country despise them for sticking w/ Trump as long as they did (not to mention their policies generally) and a large chunk (30%?) are diehard Trump supporters that will despise them for taking Trump out. Leaving like 20%? that are happy with them for doing the finally doing the right thing, only after they have tried everything else (and stacked the courts for a generation!).
The Rs would get wafflecrushed in 2020. If they do turn on Trump it will only be because their conscience finally got the better of them.
âDraggedâ
If they are going to get waffle crushed anyway itâs time for a tear down and rebrand. They could be viable again in as little as 2-3 election cycles if they do the right thing now. This road theyâve gone down with Trump is a dead end and every mile they travel down it is a mile they have to travel back.
Bretâs saying the quid pro quo is implied, Stable.
At which point most of the current Senators will be retired and/or dead.
GOP probably is already keeping a list of people who donât fully support Trump, much like Grover Norquistâs tax list. Anyone on that list gets primaried and removed.
Had to turn on the AM radio. Glenn Beck already declaring this a nothingburger. Also said he watched CNN for the first time last night in a year and it was âlike Vietnamâ. I donât even know what that means but the whole thing is beyond parody.
