A good rule for evaluating circumstances in these troubling times:
Does the thing that is happening make Donald Trump angry? Does it cause him any discomfort? If so, this thing is a good thing.

Eh, kind of splitting hairs here. Trump has been committing impeachable offenses on an ongoing basis since the day he took office, even his inauguration fund was massively corrupt. Ds growing the spine to impeach him for any of them is a victory for nunnehism imo.

There is almost a zero percent chance they “do this right” but it’s what I have been hoping for myself for a long time. This is a subject I will happily admit that I was wrong about if they impeach him in a way that has real impact (not talking conviction that is impossible, but with regard to changing the perception of the American public).
I suspect Trump will do/say something blatantly racist soon, in an attempt to distract from all of this… That’s his standard move.
Of course he did, there’s nothing new in that story, he’s been bitching about NATO countries freeloading off the US his entire Presidency.

It’s important to do it just for the long term consequences for the GOP. Trump’s wheels will fall off eventually. Getting republican sycophants firmly on board with him staying in office will have long term repercussions.
