I agree trump should be impeached on principle. However there is exactly zero chance it has any effect in the real world. He doesnât lose a point of support and not one single republican in the senate votes to convict.
Same was said in '74 with a president that had much more popular support. If the dems do this right, big if, it will change public perception and make republicans go on record defending the indefensible. It will give democrats a pathway to taking back the Senate.
