Dems: We’ve got to get to the bottom of whether or not the president shat himself. We’re going to issue a few subpoenas, and we’re standing by ready to write angry letters if they are ignored. Beyond that, we’re deeply troubled that the president shat himself, if in fact he did, but we’re not sure whether or not it rises to the level of an impeachable offense.
At least he has a tipping point that has him publicly speaking out against her. Of course it should have come much earlier, but the fact he is now shows some shred of integrity.
The media is not helping by focusing almost exclusively on the Ukraine call. Just a few days ago there was speculation about which one of ~5 foreign leaders might be the subject of the WB complaint. Then the Ukraine call comes out and everybody assumes that must be it.
“On Aug. 12, an intelligence community employee submitted a complaint to acting inspector general Michael Atkinson, who concluded the report was urgent and credible and forwarded it to Maguire.”
We need to see that complaint, and it would also be nice to hear Atkinson’s thoughts on the matter. That should be the focus.
If I file a FOIA request for the complaint and all relevant correspondence, what are the chances they fuck up and just send it to me?
There could be numerous transgression involved in the whistleblower complaint and Ukraine may be the one they think they can spin the most effectively. It will not surprise me in the least if he handed over information containing the identities of US spies to Russia.
I was on the press call for this. Reporters were like, “ANSWER THE QUESTION” and Clint Woods was all, “No.”
Reporters kept asking, “how is this not just the EPA fucking with California” and Woods was like, “yeah, we might send other states letters abut their SIPs, but California is the worst. We have to clear the backlog.”
No information on what other states have similar backlogs. So it’s blatantly just fucking with California.
For the 1,385,089,236th time, we do not consider only the consequences to Donald Fucking Trump over the next 18 days and ignore everything else!
If it flips the Senate, that’s real-world impact.
If it flips a single Senate seat, that’s a real-world impact.
It it sends the message that you cannot be a blatant, out-in-the-open criminal, that’s a real-world impact.
If it gets lazy Dems off their asses to vote, that’s a real-world impact, including down-ballot seats.
More importantly, if it does NOT send the message that the next criminal to find his way into the White House has absolutely no worries about impeachment, that’s a real-world impact.
Impeachment also opens the door for Congress to access his financial disclosures that he’s fought so hard to hide.
When the bank fraud, money laundering and self dealing get laid out in black and white the public sentiment against him will increase tremendously and republicans backing him now will realize the water they’re carrying has become too heavy to bear, imo.
