The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: ORANGE Gettin' PEACHed, Nation Goes BANANAS

Well, I am sick of the investigations into Trump, but not for the reasons he wants to believe.

It goes even beyond that, too. Like, a huge percentage of the country will have no problem with this and even encourage it under the premise that he’s just seeking justice for Biden’s wrongdoing.

Like, if Biden did something wrong, we should all want it to come out… We just don’t want the President of the United States using the power of the office to go after his political rivals. And we all know that no matter who he runs against, that’s what he’s going to do, and he’ll find something to have investigated - regardless of whether it’s true.

But let’s pretend there was a universe where things played out differently in 2016, and Obama was asking Germany to investigate Trump’s history with Deutsche Bank. Would we think Obama was some sort of dictatorial autocrat for that? Probably not, we’d probably be like, “Fuck Trump, this is important to find out.” Now, Obama wouldn’t use the power of his office to leverage that but he also wouldn’t have to given the respect he had earned from the rest of the world.

So essentially the line here is a very fine one, and while it’s a very IMPORTANT line, most of the country isn’t going to see it that way and the only people who have a change to change the perception of that line and hold him accountable for it are the Pelosi-led House Dems.

Last but not least, if he came out and did this in public, it’d be even more of a nothingburger. It would have been just another news cycle of the left attacking him, Trump defending himself, and nothing happening. Sort of like every time he tweets about how the DOJ should be looking at Crooked Hillary. It’s basically the same thing - an abuse of presidential power for a purpose that the right holds up as completely justified.

Exactly. They don’t care if Russia interfered in our election either, because it kept Hilary from becoming president. And they won’t care when they do it again.

This is a great example of why the Justice Department should not be under the executive branch.

I don’t know what the ideal solution would be, but it’s obvious that the current setup is a really bad idea.

I tend to agree that it’s not Mueller fault. With the little and it’s little of the Law that I know and the conditions he was working under I can give him a A for his work.

On the other hand I’m annoyed that Gates and Flynn + some others seem to have skated freely… I base my opinion on this after the Judge in the Flynn case regarding his plea deal and he may still face serious charges.

The gutless fuck could have come out and said that the president straight up broke the law, there was clear obstruction of justice, and he should be indicted for it. Instead he hid behind some bullshit double negatives and a half century old un-tested opinion that a president can’t be indicted.

This is very true. That’s one of the biggest differences I see between Dems and Republicans. Republicans don’t care if their guy does it meanwhile we’re trying to be reasonable over here and say if our candidate did it then they should be punished.

It’s simply me see R. R good. Me see D. D bad!

No chance. It’s a lock that president Biden, as a show of good faith to the GOP, and in an effort to restore law and order, would leave the whistleblower to rot in prison. The GOP would reciprocate by launching a dozen senate and special counsel investigations into his role in the Benghazi attacks or some bullshit.

There’s truth to this, and I’m not going to be a hyper-defender of Mueller. But if you’re more upset at Mueller than Democratic leadership, your rage is misguided.

I won’t care if Iran interferes in our election if it prevents Trump from being re-elected. I might even be willing to help.

An independent AG who is elected separately from the president. If the various states can have that, why not the federal government.

Disagree. Pelosi actually has a strategic rationale for not pursuing impeachment. I have no knowledge of the rube swing voters in swing districts, so I can’t say definitively whether her strategy is wrong. I can say definitively that Mueller is a big pussy and the only reason he didn’t say the clear obstruction he documented is in fact obstruction is because he personally is a coward.

Graham said the whistleblower has been identified and going to prison. Whomever it is might as well just hold a press conference with a lawyer and tell the media everything.

What if iran spent millions of man hours properly educating american voters in swing states on civics and ethics
