The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: ORANGE Gettin' PEACHed, Nation Goes BANANAS

This type of thinking is why you’re such a problem. You think everyone’s lying to you.

They are. Constantly. I have no idea how you could think otherwise.

They wouldn’t have shifted their language if you’re right about that. They were playing the ‘Pelosi strategy’ until they weren’t.

Nadler said he was sure there were impeachable offenses on July 21, a few days before Mueller testified, and the quote from the linked article is

“Very substantial evidence” is an odd way of describing the report flat out saying “He committed crimes but only Congress can charge him” and it’s also weird that Nadler waited until three months after the report was released to say “Gee, might be some crimes documented here”.

The majority of politicians from both sides of the aisle are collecting contributions from corporate entities that are reaping the reward of tRUmpian policies, from tax scam to deregulation and everything in between.

It goes beyond whether impeachment matters politically when it matters financially to those who own Congress. Pelosi and Nadler will move on impeachment only if and when their donors give them the green light.

This is neither here nor there, but I’m not sure when the unredacted report became available to the Intelligence Committee and Judiciary Committee head (plus probably other committee heads), but the language changed substantially relatively recently as at least 3 or 4 people went on TV saying they had read the unredacted report (all Intelligence Committee members, with Val Demings also serving on Judiciary). The best anyone could get out of any of them was that it ‘really connected the dots’, but that what was out in public was way more than enough to move forward already minus them not having the underlying evidence to examine.

Nadler had an extremely strong interview with NBC that he completely undermined with the comment I wrote above. It looks like that interview was May 21, 2019 and is here:

This is him on July 28, 2019:

His language on what they’re doing has gotten much stronger since.

One of the issues he’s claimed is that they don’t have the underlying evidence to the Mueller probe (notes, etc.) and can’t get anyone interviewed to testify. You can’t go to ‘court’ without that underlying evidence, and that’s a big reason why he’s hedging on certain things. Either the McGahn documentation or his testimony will be enough for them to do something, but they can’t really do anything without either, and that court case isn’t going to get through the next phase until probably mid October. Their goal is to have the underlying material and the McGahn testimony so that he can’t gotcha them somehow.

I’m sorry, is this CNN.com? Am I writing news articles for the Washington Post? Or is this an online discussion forum?

And part of the problem with our media is they suck at sorting through spin and bullshit to get the facts out and to paint an accurate picture of what’s really going on.

They need their base to believe they’re fighting as hard as they can to bring Trump and the people around him to justice, while at the same time fighting as little as possible to make sure they get to run against Trump in 2020. So that’s what they’re doing. Some of the base (you) is naively falling for it, some of the base (me) is seeing what’s going on. Are they lying? Not directly. They’re just playing their hand the way they think is best. They happen to be wrong about that, but they think they’re doing the right thing.

At least some of them, others just care about holding onto their own personal power.

And you continue to take Nadler at his word, at face value, when he did a near 180 from May 15 to July 28. If his knowledge of the situation changed significantly in that time, it was a total dereliction of duty on his part to keep up with the information available to him before May 15.

If his knowledge didn’t change, then he was either full of shit on May 15, full of shit on July 28, or both.

You’re just reading between the lines to find what you want to so that you can feel all warm and fuzzy inside and taunt the TrumpBot with how inevitable its demise is, when in reality Trump is drawing very live at a second term and he is very unlikely to be impeached before the election.

It’s a brave new world, my friend, politicians are all honest creatures now! At least the ones nunnehi wants to believe.

If they’re actually going to do impeachment (which I highly doubt), they pretty much have to start next week.

The schedule is:
3 weeks in session
2 weeks off
3 weeks in session
1 week off
2 weeks in session
1 week off
2 weeks in session
Off till the new year

There’s really not that much time for them to get anything really rolling before the Christmas break.

I’m done, you’re all pointless. We’ll see what happens.

If you want to have serious fact based discussions about impeachment, and not opinion pieces on your ‘feels’, just bump that Pelosi impeachment thread and maybe we can get something not stupid going.

They have subpoenaed Rob Porter to testify on Sept. 17 (he won’t). I don’t know about any other hearings (I haven’t looked anything up in the last week or so), but something will be happening pretty quick on their return. They’re keeping us in the dark so people like cuse can have something to crap all over I guess.

Seems pretty obvious they just want to drag this out and have it hanging over his head until the election.

You’re going to need to show a lot more evidence than just saying that. There are a bunch of ongoing court cases that expect to get decisions at some point in October. Nothing massive will happen until then at least and that’s if the court opinions are favorable.

This got me too

I really dont understand what the rush is for impeachment, because:
a. senate wont convict
b. if a miracle happens , and they do, we just get mike fucking pence

Seems like the best strategy is to have the trial in the house instead of republican controlled senate.
So taking an impeachment vote should be the last thing done before the election.

We need to spend the next year having hearings in the house.
No need to rush, not much is gonna change before the election.

just before election, impeach the s.o.b.

I have my doubts about the democrats, but cant just give up hope.

Flame away

Does this mean the seemingly endless back and forth is finally over?
