In Chicago you put a chair where you park on your street so when it snows people know that’s your spot.

They shovel the spot their vehicle was in and then toss chairs or something in the spot so it’s clear for them even though the plows haven’t been through to clear the rest of the street yet.

If it snows, and everybody who is parking shovels, then the street will be shoveled. Just like any normal day. But these unseemly mfs use the excuse to manifest destiny a communal space.

I seriously had a friendly acquaintanceship end over this, lol. I came home, shoveled, parked our shared car and my roommate got mad and freaked out that I didn’t put out chairs and shit. Then I stopped him from putting them out and things spiraled. Basically because I said the parking chair situation is a great lowkey way to tell if somebody is secretly a terrible and selfish pos. And while there are obvious exceptions that’s basically true.

biden is a good politician, but i never got him as a give-cover guy. chuck schumer would be. i am afraid biden will both sides gop obstructionism for far too long. but on the other hand, he could really roll some nice agenda if he planned to just go one-term and deflected shats away from vulnerable democrats. like, going and establishing a national service workers union, voting holiday, public medicare option, making EPA/CDC much more independent. rolling that back after 4 years will be a huge headache for next repub majority leader.

We don’t got snow at the beach, but we do got parking wars. Cones & paint are the “parking chairs” here. This shit gets violent.

Then we got some longstanding local corruption in my micro-hood where a handful of landlords can’t get parking tickets in certain non-legal “spaces” (which they then rent out)… but if anyone else gets a car in there all hell breaks loose.
