Has anyone actually read the NY Post story? I’m confused at what the big scandal is wrt to Joe - except it does seem that Hunter Biden dropped off a laptop at a repair store with a ton of sensitive stuff, then just left it. Or maybe someone hacked him, cloned his HD onto a laptop and dropped it off?

Man, if a failson determines whether a father should be elected president, I’d hate to scrutinize Don Jr’s affairs.
This is ignoring that even if the story were true, Biden has taken the right response to this already. He told the story of a son who like many Americans had a substance abuse problem and fought his way through recovery. For Trump to keep shitting on Hunter is no longer going to have the effect Trump wants.
That’s a powerful frame that fits nicely with the popular conservative narrative of redemption. Hypocrisy no longer matters once you’re in the redemption frame. Gingrich can cheat on as many wives as he likes if he lives in constant repentance. I suspect Trump continuing to hammer Biden as though Hunter’s substance abuse is the substance of the criticism is making Trump look like an asshole to conservatives now, too.

I think when many here, like many on the right, talk about “the media” the term lacks a referent. Complaints about “the media” are like complaints about the present king of France. There’s no such thing as “the media” other than as, perhaps, an employment sector in BLS reports.
Conspiracies or broad generalizations about the media are like Heidegger’s philosophy. Just because a description can be made about a subject using the grammar of english (or german) doesn’t mean it should.

Some of you guys are almost as good at pretending to not understand what you obviously understand as members of the WH press corps.
Obviously there are good investigative journalists or whatever. And just as obviously, that’s not what I’m talking about.
We have now been at this for four and a half years and these fucking assholes still either don’t know, or more likely are too scared, to question or cover this administration in a productive way.
Treating Hunter Biden’s laptop as a legitimate story in mid-October, 2020, is absurd behavior. This is the same paper that cheerleaded us into the Iraq war, published 77 stories about HER EMAILS, dutifully covered dozens of sham stories like BENGHAZIIIIII and still, ever the sweet summer child and dutiful amplifier of obvious bullshit, gave us this dandy headline:
