I can think of messaging that might work. But I can’t imagine it ever being good messaging when the president, eight months into a pandemic, says he finally learned what the virus is REALLY about.

The whole stunt is reflective of the small-minded, strategy-free approach of the entire Trump team.
This was a golden opportunity to turn things around. If he came out, offered a sincere apology, said hes scared straight and acted like a semi-normal adult he would have a shot moving forward.
He is incapable of doing this.

I think this is a timing issue. The public demand for him to to do so has to be so high that we almost give him no choice, otherwise it will be a short-term gain better left to the media and the public.
I am reminded of when Chapelle explained why he had been silent on the protests. He said his voice would have taken up space better filled by the voices of the people who no longer need him to speak for them.

What he is saying is that beyond antibodies you also need helper and T cells to fight off covid and if people don’t get the helper T cells going on their own first, then dex may suppress their ability to make them and cause worse results. That could explain why people not on o2 do worse on dex than off dex.
