I don’t know about this. It think it’s a reasonable strategy to just nuke the norms and do maximum damage (or I guess, in their minds, good) possible and then let the tsunami come. Especially when the other team might just stick to the norms anyway.

Should do wonders to shore up the support of seniors who are pre-disposed to support Dear Leader but have turned against him due to his handling of the virus to hold a super spreader event in Florida!

Or something. I think Trump should be reminded at every opportunity that he may be a stable genius but he’s never figured out how to master the media. Other Presidents have. Pretty much all of them in recent years have had better media relations than Trump. It shouldn’t be that hard.

Trump is pretty much a redo of Nixon absent the competence and with a GOP congressional majority. Even the fraudulent tax returns are similar.
Nixon’s life was pretty much all about attacking the swells and elites (and minorities), and how they looked down on assholes like Dick Nixon. Paranoid hatred as a life plan.
