I don’t really follow the logic here. We’re saying that the PA state legislature would otherwise love to send a slate of Trump electors, but in order to do so the law in PA would need to be changed. And those legislators, who would love to send a slate of Trump electors, wouldn’t be willing to change that law?

Like, I assume that a lot of states probably have their rules for choosing electors written in the state constitution which would likely be difficult to change for this election in most places. But if we’re hanging our hopes on “don’t worry, they’d have to change a state law before ignoring the will of their constituents”… I’m not very comforted by that.

zero chance they will take calls

I believe it’s that the law can’t be changed without the Governor also signing the law, which a Democrat Governor won’t.

more than 70% of people will need to adjust, learn, and change their careers in their lifetimes. perhaps half of them more than once. that’s what college prepares them for, the learning part. it doesn’t prepare them for some particular job better than a non-college route. it makes it more likely they can continue learning for the next 30-40 years.

I’d make fun of you that but then I remember no kink shaming.

Nah I disagree. The vast majority of that 70% will never really have to adjust, learn and change their careers. It’ll take them half a day of on the job training as they move into different companies/positions. I’m more Aldus Huxley over George Orwell when it comes to possible dystopian futures.

It wasn’t until like 1890 that the government printed ballots. Before that parties printed them, often with only their own candidates and in a particular color, so you could see how someone voted. The secret ballot in the US was a big reform, known as the Australia Ballot. Secret ballot - Wikipedia
