This is very important on it’s own, but it also confounds (to an extent) separating age demographics from education demographics. 100 millennials will have higher educational attainment than 100 boomers. 350% more college grads today than in 1960. (And the change for women is likely underestimated in terms of broader social effects.)
Would vulnerable R’s really vote against it? Stimulus is extremely popular and passing it would help Mitch retain his majority and his power. Isn’t that all he cares about at the end of the day? Even if it means caving and helping poors?
Also, perhaps instead of that stupid presser Pelosi is having on the 25th amendment, the topic should be the HEROES act. “Great, we want stimulus too, we ask Mitch to bring this immediately to a vote.”
At this point we have barely over 3 weeks to the election. I’m not sure why the Dems would hand Trump any wins. Pass it in the lame duck or when you have 60% of the house and 57 Senators so you can get the bill you have always wanted.
Obviously if they want to pass HEROES that’s fine but that would be my only and final offer.
Agreed, but I think that anything productive happening in a Trump lame duck period is a dead letter. The Federal Government is going to look like Russia retreating in WWII.
