Yeah, thinking back, that sketch was pretty good.
My biggest laugh was when they said the first name in the name change office sketch. I lol’ed a few times on that one.

Partly Springsteen’s fault for making the chorus so anthemic imo. He’s supposed to be blue collar worker’s representative in song and it’s curious how he misjudged how it would be received by its target audience. Also, it’s just a fairly bad, corny tune and nowhere near one of his best.

IIRC Bruce stopped several Republican campaigns from using the song, going all the way back to Reagan.
This is why I think it will be a long time before we see him speaking live to reporters or doing a debate. Who knows how long he’ll be in a stage where he could bust out coughing uncontrollably?
