Prolly posted this before but I can confirm Capitol police have always been bad (or good, depending on your POV) at their jobs. When I was like 13, my brother and I wandered off a tour of the building, roaming halls we most certainly weren’t supposed to go into for like 20 minutes. Eventually ended up in Al Gore’s empty office. It was at that point, even as dumb kids we had enough sense to get out.
