How far could Trump take the Taiwan thing? Could he recognize Taiwan diplomatically? I’m sure that the one China policy is a cornerstone of our near east foreign blah blah blah but I’m always just like, look man. It’s another country. Just because China throws a temper tantrum every time anyone says “Taiwan” or makes any move to legitimize them doesn’t change that. They’ve been an independent nation for like 75 years!

As far as I can tell, due to the vacancies and “acting” office holders, the DHS succession goes all the way down to 5th, the Transportation Security Administration head David Pekoske, the former second-in-command of the Coast Guard. So, at least it’s not in the hands of a long-time Republican political operative.
Trump’s acting DHS secretary? He should be tried at The Hague.
