We use multiple cloud providers at work. AWS pulling Parler from its platform is huge and is likely a death blow to the company.
Creating infrastructure for large, global audience websites is a tricky business. You try to create your infrastructure to be cloud agnostic, but in reality it’s impossible. Between google (gcp) and aws, there are enough small differences that you typically can’t just copy a deployment from one to another without massaging a metric shitton of config files and knowing what you’re doing.
Rebuilding their site is not just a matter of copy pasting some code and redeploying, is what I’m saying. To make things even worse for them they’re likely to have to go to some shitty russian provider that doesn’t care their site is full of terroristic threats, which their current infra is probably even MORE incompatible with.
Whoever has my job over at parler, I would not want to be that person. In fact I’d probably resign. I’m super skeptical of parler’s claims that they’ll be back online in a week.

I guess where I’m coming from is that if we’re going to warn against left misinformation it would be useful to know what it typically looks like. Even then, I think that left misinformation is a drop in the ocean of misinformation so the whole exercise has a “both sides” flavor that I am not super excited about.
I saw it 15 years ago after the Steelers stomped the Seahawks in the SuperBowl.

I’ve said this before, but a lot of their calls for unity and Benghazi is the same is just trolling. They know that they are full of shit and have no good reason to be mad and they just don’t want Mexicans here and they know their critics earnestly dislike them for it. Don’t expect a lot of them to acknowledge this. Arguing about how this is worse than Benghazi is what they are hoping you’ll do.
