Article One, Section Nine says no.

All right, I’m going to take a break here, but one last thought:

Imagine what is going on in these people’s minds. Imagine them posting on this forum, not just today, but any day.

I’m never catching up on this thread, but Melania is the heroine we didn’t know we needed. BE BEST finally kicked in!

Does that sum it up?

A government without the power to do bad things is a government without the power to do good things.

Yeah, I’m sure you’re the epitome of personal responsibility

moron

I really do think you’re missing the point here. The property crimes and even the violent crimes are in some sense incidental to the real offense, which was an attempt to overthrow the republic and create a dictatorship. I’m sure there are some lefties out there who would love to do that, but there really is no imaginable scenario where they mount a real attempt to do it. You could imagine some dudes strolling into the Capitol with assault rifles and shooting a bunch of people, but that’s not going to overthrow the government.

Doesn’t the US have to be at war and the traitor actually helping the other side for it to be treason?

Uhhhh…not all agree:

nazis weren’t truly nazis until after they started the genocide. and i guess at the start of the genocide they would argue it wasn’t genocide it was something else, so maybe the middle or toward the end of the genocide is when it’s ok to call them nazis, according to known serial killer ted cruz

“The offenses can be found in Title 18, Chapter 115, which criminalizes “treason, sedition, and subversive activity.” Treason, narrowly defined as “lev[ying] war against” the United States or giving “aid and comfort” to its enemies, doesn’t fit with the fact pattern here.”

military guy who’s in on the coup: uh huh. and did you want them to have shoes?

Sure, but at that point you might as well just put a rope around their neck and strangle them. Probably less effort that way.

You’re the child blaming the government for keeping your gym open, so you MUST go in to workout without a mask on. You’re the one saying your boss FORCED you to go into work after a positive COVID exposure. Now you’re hand waving the responsibility of armed insurrectionists invading the Capitol. It’s a pattern with you. Have you ever accepted responsibly for anything in your life?

Definitely learned their lesson. Just keep charging them with jaywalking, seems to be working.
