Just to be clear, I generally agree with this. I do want this folks shaken and shaken hard to make sure the actual leadership and violent actors do get top charged. Plus Inwant anyone not there involved in planning charged. And especially any other plots uncovered.
And I am in favor of them losing some rights/privileges like flying and gun ownership.
I hate that their is fucking 7 foot fence around the Capitol and really hope it doesn’t stay.
Great. So lets just continue to let violent white RWNJ literally get away with murder while brown people continue to get snuffed out for walking while brown. This has worked great for the last 50 years and things have improved tremendously.

I think some states that do not have a death penalty have a special exception for killing a cop.
I actually think if Trump hadn’t done his teleprompter concession, there would have been enough votes. A fact that was probably communicated to him to get him to do his teleprompter concession.
Counter argument, this happens because whites are 60% of the population and blacks are 13% of the population and thus we are in a lose-lose situation.

I’m fine with the people who walked in and took selfies getting misdemeanor trespass or whatever they call it in DC. But the fucker who broke into pelosi’s office and stole shit from there? That’s a fucking outrageous undercharge.

Well we are also talking about people like the guy in Pelosi’s office being undercharged, and people are making arguments like, “well what can we do, the cops let them walk right in.” So I’m arguing that people who demonstrably committed worse crimes than waltzing in after the doors where wide open should be charged with the crimes that they actually committed, and not handled with kid gloves.
Probably SweetSummerChild here, but we are still under the Trump DOJ. I am hopeful once we get new DOJ, they up all the charges.

It was about not oppressing the majority. One could focus on not oppressing minorities. Oppressing majorities doesn’t help minorities. That’s not to say the murder shouldn’t be charged, trespass and burglary and assaults and whatever was done etc, but hundreds of people charged with murder or sedition is wrong and makes things worse for everyone.

I have nothing but respect for micro and PC even if I occasionally (and to be honest very rarely) might disagree with them. I’ve been supporting micro for POTUS since about 2008.

Is that how it works? They plead to trespassing and that protects them from getting charged with sedition? I thought double jeopardy was about not being tried on the same charge twice (except in cases of hung juries) and not about a variety of charges for the same incident.
