…but JFC. The way that Veritas puts out some bullshit, and then it’s picked up by right wing news, and then it gets to fucking congress, and they spout the shit without ever thinking “this sounds pretty fucking stupid, maybe I should look into this before I get on twitter and/or stand up in the house chambers and start spewing it” is a true mindfuck. Congressional ethics really needs to start putting something together to punish these fucks for spreading unfounded bullshit.

We laugh at Pence for trading a griftable Senate seat for no money and no power, but using Fats McDonald as a metaphorical human shield by hitching that Secret Service detail looks more like a concept out of Fascist Regimes for Advanced Players now after the shit inevitably went down. He was the first one out of there with his own personal Seal Team Six that would (and did) shoot to kill. I’m not saying it’s 7D chess but maybe 2.5D given his former colleagues were sitting ducks protected by Capital Grille police.

Agreed. Always remember that most Republican congress members face no risk of losing to a Democrat, but are at risk of being primaried from the lunatic fringe right. So that’s where they make concessions.

This is the difference between individual cops being fascists/racists/whatever and the entire police force behaving as a fascist/racist/whatever entity. You don’t need conscious decisions by any individual to let these people storm the capitol - there were 100 much less consequential decisions that inevitably led to that outcome.
