Pretty much the only grave I’m dancing on is Trump’s. I’m not even that sensitive like all life is sacred, 40000 men and women every day and all (more lately), but I’m not keen on grave dancing generally.

They weren’t 16. Every 16 year old knows better and sure as fuck knows the possible consequences. It is not complicated. It is not nuanced. They were initiating a coup. That’s usually a one way mission.
There’s really 2 different things at work here imo.
Let’s say she was 16 and her parents drug her there. She’s already dead. I said I’d feel neutral about her but kind of happy about her parents suffering forever.
Now if I actually knew anyone involved would I feel that way? No, not even if I hated the parents. But since it’s in the abstract and I don’t know them - eh whatever.
Do I cry when I see 1 million people dying in a Yellow River flood 100 years ago on wikipedia of world’s biggest disasters? No. But you show me a documentary with real stories of real people and I cry like a baby.
I feel like some are trying to hold us to the real world standard of someone we know as a real person, when we’re talking about the abstract standard of someone we don’t know and don’t care about.

Not impeaching and convicting here is a huge error. It takes Trump off the table for 2024. That’s huge. Even if Trump doesn’t win we know that he generates turnout and when the MAGA dipshits are voting for Trump, it’s convenient enough for them to vote for every other R downballot.
It’s like we’re down to the last Voldemort Horcrux, but instead of destroying it, we’re like “Well we already destroyed a bunch of them. That’s pretty good. Let’s just leave this one. What’s the worst that could happen?”
