He’s not saying it’s dumb given how dumb people are acting. No one needs a 6 month supply of TP now for any reason other than people are buying up the supplies. If no one did that, no one would need to do it.
Efficient markets dude. Everyone is a rational, maximising, agent that’s why capitalism works so well.

If no one stocks up on TP, then we’re all hosed when supplies get cut off, unless you think Kroger keeps a huge amount of extra stock on hand.
If supplies get cut off we’ve got bigger problems to worry about than wiping our asses.

I always buy TP and many other non-perishables in bulk because I’m both lazy and forgetful. There’s nothing worse than trying to reuse a coffee filter for the third time because you keep forgetting to pick some up on the way home. So when the coronapocalypse hits and my neighbors run short, I’ll be able to help them out. I have plenty to spare.

Dude, this is a marathon, not a sprint. You don’t need to wash your hands because you touched something dirty (everything is dirty). Wash before eating, when you get home, and if you really need to touch your face and there’s no tissue around. This stress is more likely to make you sick than anything else.

Yeah. If factories stop working and people stop delivering stuff to stores, people will be hungry enough in a week that stocking up on bullets makes more sense than TP.

I had the same thought… Though in times of need, a used coffee filter doubling as TP will probably give you a huge caffeine buzz. Bring on the apocalypse!

I’m going to spend absolutely zero time being outraged or even commenting on the hypocrisy when Trump rides the “corrupt family” narrative to victory. This country and especially the Democratic Party are about to get exactly what they deserve.
