Yea that is a really great and terrifying read.
âThe way to keep your job is to out-loyal keveryone else, which means you have to tolerate quackery,â says Anthony Scaramucci, an estranged former Trump adviser, who was briefly his White House head of communications. âYou have to flatter him in public and flatter him in private. Above all, you must never make him feel ignorant.â
âPeople turn into wusses around Trump. If you stand up to him, youâll never get back in. What you see in public is what you get in private. He is exactly the same.â
Heâs probably gonna watch it on TiVo later
Fauci has managed to contradict him a few times on TV and keep his job. Dude must be like the GOAT ass kisser behind the scenes.
The Financial Times no less - well known commie rag - the pinko paper amirite.
I have a little different take. I think Trump realizes that Fauci is popular and well-respected. Firing him could backfire in a big way. He didnât have to care about such things when it came to firing Sessions, or Tillerson, or Comey. Has he fired anyone who has universal popularity? Does he even hire people who are independently well-liked? I think Trump knows that he can fire Fauci, but he wouldnât be able to silence him, and thatâs a problem.
These are all bad things and should be criticized as part of a normal political discourse. Nonetheless each one of these is like 2 orders of magnitude less awful than a normal Trump thing
What am I in The Jetsons?
Fuckinâ idiotâŚ
I donât really understand this critique. What was his other option? I guess more executive orders?
Weird to be calling something the plague when it is no worse than the common flu.
(Plague!)
Itâs only weird if you are incapable of holding two obviously contradictory beliefs at the same time.
One of the failures of argumentation with Trumpkins is the instinct to present them with normally appropriate arguments they donât give a fuck about:
-
Hey, thatâs a self contradiction! Guess what, they donât care. They are willing to hold opposing views A and B if both A and B can be interpreted as owning the libs.
-
Hey, thatâs a double standard! Guess what, they donât care. They LOVE double standards. MAGA means going back to more structural and legally enforced double standards. Thatâs the point!
-
Hey, thatâs contradicted by the data! Guess whatâs, they donât care. They are perfectly comfortable ignoring data, or stopping collecting data altogether.
Some people keep presenting these observations on Trumpkin idiocy but it doesnât matter. Anyone that seeks consistency of argument, fairness in society, and data supported insights is already against Trump.
