Incarceration stats correlate pretty much directly by the racial mix of people below the poverty line.
I have done the research on this previously. It is absolutely a poverty issue and not a race issue. Poor whites are as likely to commit crimes as poor blacks. Hispanics also follow the same trends.
Depends on what circumstances they’re suffering through in prison. Martha Stewart would have been happy to wait and see if a pardon came her way, but two weeks in solitary confinement would have almost anyone ready to flip. Paul Manafort is definitely waiting on a pardon.
