We used to be a very young country in every way. Now in terms of having a continuous government we’re like the oldest. The Republicans say stuff like the bigger the government the smaller the citizen and because we hate the Republicans we have to hate what they say? But, remember they are saying that in bad faith while they build the police, the military, the NSA, drug laws, prisons, etc… American exceptionalism was that people felt powerful relative to the government. That’s very far from true anymore.
