I think you’re right, but this clearly wasnt the right time for him. Gotta get through the Septuagenarians first. Same reason Newsom isn’t running this go-round.
I still honestly don’t get why they bet their whole roll on a phone call when they could’ve added much more important matters to articles of impeachment such as national security. And I don’t mean just national security threats to elections. I’m talking about his refusal to use secured land line phones (after learning his own staff could see a record of his calls) in favor of an unsecured cell phone that is almost certainly being monitored by hostile powers and subjecting him to blackmail. Or his openly admitting on camera that he only cares that we’re securing the oil fields and doesn’t give a damn about pulling our troops out and helping Ukraine. Or his numerous emolument violations, the most egregious being to Saudi Arabia and what they’re doing in Yemen, so he can make a few bucks on his hotels. The list goes on and on. Instead, they focus on this one phone call. Hate to say it, but Dems deserve to lose
Also heard Pelosi has some trick up her sleeve and that’s why she’s rushing this. Can’t wait to see if that’s true
I’d rather he take a shot at Feinstein’s seat in 2024. (or earlier if it’s vacated before that)

This. Impeachment is basically a glorified PR campaign.
Also presenting fewer (and more rock-solid) articles makes it more difficult for opponents to say that since one article has no merit, none of them do.
