Trump’s body man got pozzed but that’s legit sad news, he’s probably just a guy trying to make a living who was treated like shit and considered disposable. I hope he makes a full recovery ASAP and writes a book or something.

Doc 1: Well Trump has pretty mild symptoms, and we’ve got pretty good medical care here at the White House. We’ll treat him here.
A while later…
Doc 2: Wait, Trump has COVID and you’re not moving him to Walter Reed? That’s insane
Doc 1: Well his symptoms are mild and we can take care of him here if he crashes
Doc 2: Maybe. But if he crashes and dies, everyone is going to blame you for not sending him out sooner.
Doc 1: Guess you’re right. Might as well send him there. At least it won’t be my ass if he dies. Get the chopper ready.
Did that happen? Probably not. But it’s not crazy.

Because he’s the president. That’s the way it works. He gets access to care that normal people don’t get. If there is even a 0.1% chance that being in the hospital is the difference between surviving and dying you do it.
Also as I attempted to explain in my fanfic above, none of the medical team will get criticized for sending him. But they could get criticized for not sending him. So they are incentivized to do so even if he doesn’t “need” it.
Carries bags and spray tan and runs errands.
The assumption is that everyone here has watched The West Wing. I’d have bet it was at least 80% of unstuck, but seems like it’s less than that.

One of the important things to remember here is that COVID isn’t the instakiller type deal. It can do that (usually through a big blood clot in the lungs), but the typical path is a lot like Boris Johnson’s experience. IIRC he was fine for a week or so before getting admitted and ending up in the ICU. You either get better or die at that point.
Even if Trump is fine now, the fact that he needed oxygen so early on is a poor prognostic factor, but that prognosis is 4 to 10 days down the road. He could get better obviously too, but mortality risk estimate low end would be 10% in my opinion. Would be much higher if it was earlier or he wasn’t receiving world class care.

My friend who tested positive two weeks ago I mentioned in the other thread is still fighting it. His symptoms progressed lately to include severe fatigue, and he tested positive again today.
33 y/o fit guy.
I’d be surprised if Trump is fine in two weeks.

Christie dying would be such an incredibly perfect ending for him. Suicide bombs Rubio to help clear the path for Trump in 2016, becomes first to drop out and endorse, is frontrunner for VP slot (or at worst, AG), winds up with absolutely nothing, and now maybe dies of covid
