What? No. Only 25% of Americans own guns.
I looked it up, 30% own, 43% have one in the household.

Sucks to be a law bro today, they day all law bros were dumped into the landfill.
The lawbros were the ones saying there is no enforcement mechanism for the subpoenas. It was the lefties who had fantasies about the Sergeant at Arms.
Good call @nunnehi! Remember guys, all these dates in these posts where he predicts success are referencing Oct 2019 through January 2020.
From 9/1/19:
“The McGahn subpoena will probably be decided in the federal court by mid October at the latest.”
From 11/8/19:
From 11/14/19:
“I think a lot of timing rests on the McGahn decision, which should be coming down within the next two weeks. I’m expecting McGahn to be completely done by mid-December (as long as SC declines it), and I expect the House will win McGahn. Everyone will have to testify at that point which could change the timeline a lot in relation to dragging things out. If the SC hears it, then they’ll just move forward without a decision on that and I think a pre-Christmas vote is realistic.”
So the law bros were saying all along congress had no legal authority to do anything?
Welcome to Germany. Well thankfully “everyone” is an exaggeration, but their number is growing. I do realize that is the problem you want to have right now. Still it is getting more and more frustrating.
Nice try, lib. That’s in his personal capacity!
By the way, if this ruling stands we’re pretty close to perhaps my biggest fear, the Maduro playbook of dissolving the legislature. It would be effectively done at that point.
The House can’t pass a law granting itself this power because Trump won’t sign it. This would thus completely neuter the House’s investigative power.
At that point, Trump can do anything he wants via EO as long as the Senate doesn’t convict him on impeachment. The House can’t investigate and compel testimony, so all it can do is impeach and send it to the Senate, where we know what the GOP will do.
At that point it’s basically a symbolic body that he can thumb his nose at.
At this point the only thing stopping this is going to be, hopefully, RBG’s heartbeat.
Way less according to this:
Only 28% live in a household where somebody owns a gun (not necessarily them).
Guns kill about 40k people per year. Not all of those would be saved by banning guns, but some large fraction would. In the political sphere, guns are wielded almost exclusively by rightwingers to enforce the status quo, attack out groups, and silence dissent. It’s weird and galling that people who are otherwise militant in their leftwing positions like Chapo just throw their hands in the air on the issue of guns, “whaddya gonna do, it’s not good politics, guns are fun lol.”
Lol Kayleigh. He weighs a lot. 100%.
They had legal authority to issue subpoenas, but there were never consequences specified for failure to obey them.
When the other side is forming liberal hunting militias and training/arming for a full on civil war, I don’t think the correct play for the left is to be completely unarmed. I think gun violence goes down with fewer guns but the reality is that some of us may be forced to defend ourselves when the death squads start rolling out in 202x.
Henderson was appointed by H.W. to replace Ken Starr.
Come on man, don’t fall for this crap. These judges are straight up political hacks and they rule accordingly. This garbage is like taking Republicans seriously when they say purging voter rolls is about election integrity.
You’re right, my mistake.
She’s still a complete hack. She was with Rao in the Flynn case.
In all honesty I think it’s far too late to ban the sale of guns now: the horse has bolted. There are 120 privately owned firearms for every 100 people.
Banning the sale of guns probably wouldn’t reduce by many (if any) the number of school shoot ups as nutjobs will be able to get hold of them on the black market, but it would deter law abiding people from being able to defend themselves against right wing death squads.
lol just decades more of these nonsense rulings to come thanks to a relative handful of idiots four years ago
If that happens, there’s already no hope. The left will never have more guns than the right.
Idk what you’re exactly arguing. I’m not saying all left leaning people should voluntarily give up their guns to show support for the cause. I’m saying it would be good if guns were banned for everybody (including rightwingers).
That’s obviously not going to happen, but there are lots of good things that aren’t going to happen that people still make a spirited case for in the hopes of moving the overton window. On guns, the popular “left” position is background checks and no weapons of war, same as it has been for decades, and even if implemented it would only put a tiny dent in the mass deathcount of guns in America. No attempt to move the overton window. Like I said, galling.
