He wants people to write about him. I am sure Woodward stroked his ego enough.

He’s a clout chaser. Somewhere in his tiny brain he knows that Bob Woodward is a famous journalist, so of course he wants to talk to him. All Bob had to do was say “oh Donnie, I really, really, want your opinion!” And Trump falls for it. Because he wants to fall for it. Woodward could be a Pauly Shore-level actor and Trump would still go for it.
