WHAT IS YOUR FASCINATION WITH MY FORBIDDEN REFRIDGERATOR OF MYSTERY
mine does this too - for her, she needs to know what every single thing is in the house. dont know why. if I bring home groceries she has to inspect every single item for me. if you try to hide stuff for whatever reason, she finds it
This is because cats want to know where every possible weapon is that they could use to kill you and eat your face.
Cats are haughty enough without having a pretentious name like “Rune.”
True, her latest thing is putting her paw over my nose and/or mouth to wake me up
Thats a murder attempt. She just hasnt succeded yet
We are fostering another beagle, in a 4 week foster-to-adopt program.
The rescue organization is focused on lab testing beagles, but this guy was an owner-surrender. He doesn’t seem to have ever walked on a leash, probably didn’t get outside much at all, and has attachment issues.
We’re working on the behavioral stuff, but overall he’s doing very well. We’re 1 week in, and he’s made tremendous progress so far!
As usual, Waylon has been so patient and is helping to get this guy acclimated to a normal and healthy living environment.
Waylon is a saint.
I’m fighting the urge real bad lately to buy a snake again. I had a ball python once that caught a respiratory illness that I tried to treat with antibiotics but she died. I guess I’d probably go ball python again.
They’re great snakes - they’re docile as hell, love being handled, and develop unique personalities and seem capable of at least recognizing owners and forming as much of an attachment as a reptile can with one.
Either that or a corn snake, which are also great, docile snakes. Ruled out a lizard as most are far too much work than I want to do. snakes are like 1x/week feed, clean cage around that frequency, keep humidity and temp where it needs to be.
Only problem is I think it’ll drive my cat apeshit if she can smell it. upside could be - it’d possibly provide her entertainment to watch it? she’s seemed bored lately. another issue is pythons can be picky eaters and decide to just randomly go multiple months with no appetite so you end up with a pet mouse sometimes.
I always wondered if cats who were raised with humans who keep their bedroom door closed just learn to patiently wait for their humans to emerge in the morning.
I was watching dog training vids and there’s a guy who uses his doberman to correct problem dogs. My last dog didn’t tolerate rude behavior from other dogs. If they jumped up on his peeps he’d push them back and keep going until they submitted. One of our friends brought their out of control cocker spaniel over and he whipped her into shape. About an hour after the initial excitement our friend said something about how she’d never seen her behave so well. I said wait until you see what happens when she jumps up on one of the kids and on queue she starts to jump on my son. My dog’s warning growl had her back sitting nicely immediately.
ETA—It was the dog in my avatar. Everyone who met him commented that he was the most chill dog they’d ever seen.
The vet recommended that we get him a dog walker a couple days a week so he can build confidence/develop correct behaviors while in a pack.
He (and I) definitely need a trainer to help. He’s doing some things to undermine Waylon’s alpha status in the house, which we’re trying to curtail but we don’t entirely know what we’re doing.
If my dogs are doing something that warrants a strong correction I pin them and say no and don’t let them up until they stop struggling. One time was enough to set my 15-month old son ahead of them in the hierarchy.
This reminds me of a time that I went over to my ex-wife’s home to pick up our girls. My ex’s stepson had his Rottweiler there (whom I had never seen before), and she began barking at me in what felt like a somewhat alarmed and semi-aggressive way.
In less than a minute, my ex’s beagle got between us and starting barking at the Rottweiler, as if to say, “Chill out, he’s cool.”
Picked up Theo (FKA Tigger) on the way back from ATX. He’s shit in the house ~ half a dozen times in under 24 hours.
Anyone have any advice for supplements or literally anything in helping ease hip pain for dogs? Seems like they are starting to bother him in his old age.
Our OG dog is better than my wife and kids at disciplining/controlling our crazy pandemic dog, when he pulls his shit around her she shuts it down with a quickness. Partially as a result he thinks I must be some sort of God because she hangs on my every word.
CBD treats helped a ton for our cat with arthritis.
Just any CBD oil?
