We say Poppy is 7 lbs of pure Philadelphia attitude. Before she gets to know you she’s going to threaten to rip your face off.
But basically she’s just a really good judge of comfort. If you (or another dog) are nervous around her then she’s going to tell you to stay the eff away. And if you don’t listen…
If you are comfortable with her she will Velcro herself to you. Be prepared to French kiss.

Our girl hurt her back a couple of winters ago, it really sucked. I had to carry her up and down stairs, pick her up to put her on the sofa, etc.
In our case we did give her some medicine (some kind of pain medication plus muscle relaxer if I remember correctly) and it cleared up in a couple of weeks.

What kind of dog is that?
50%+ beagle, ~50% other. We think English Pointer, in part, based on the head markings. His mom was a purebred beagle, found pregnant on the side of the road in Mississippi.
His attitude is all beagle though. He can smell a rabbit from a mile away. I think we’re going to adopt a second beagle in the spring. Trying to walk 2 beagles on a leash should be fun!
I see some pointer in him. That is why I was asking. I own a german shorthair pointer.

Anyone else with two or more dogs get hypnotized into extra treats by synchronized tail wagging? Should be in the Olympics.
Our pup met a couple other adopted pups from her litter today. They had her in size by quite a bit, I’m thinking we got the runt of the litter. She got beat up a bit but did OK, completely exhausted now.

Pup got a piece of his ear bit off at daycare last week. He seems to be handling it fine, hopefully it doesn’t make him aggressive or wary around strange dogs though

Curious, how are the daycare and offending dog’s owner handling it? On the one hand, dogs are dogs, shit happens. On the other hand, that’s definitely not how you’re hoping for your dog to return home.
