Update on Rex is that he has a bad tooth so he’s booked in for a complete scale/clean and removal of tooth. Good news really.

Formal intestinal biopsy results on Jake— inflammatory bowel disease. The best diagnosis we were hoping for. Essentially he has an auto-immune inflammation which resorts in malabsorption of nutrients across the intestinal wall.
Steroids to reduce inflammation
Plavix since low blood protein is associated with blood clots
Specific probiotic
100% hydrolyzed protein diet for life
B12 shots until his blood proteins are getting back to normal.
Recheck blood protein in about 3 weeks.
We are very lucky. He likes the kibble. Loves the wet food (used to mix all the meds in) and even likes the treats.

We just found out this morning that we were chosen to adopt a puppy from the local rescue! Suuuuper fucking excited, will be my first dog (she had many growing up). At this point I don’t even know what I don’t know yet but I’m really looking forward to this.

He’s got one wonky eye, sinus issues, sneezes a lot, isn’t a good hunter and hates laptops. Still, the greatest adventure buddy I could ask for.
