The NHL Thread: It’s Back

scoreless into the 3rd OT? I bet even Fla faithful were begging to be put out of their misery. I still remember the fluke Uwe Krupp seeing eye point shot that ended the game.

Probably true.

(To the extent that “Fla faithful” exist)

4 more wins
this garbage is unwatchable

German free tv is showing the game tonight I might set the alarm. Gonna regret it tomorrow at work. :D

I just want to note that fireworks are dumb.

Holy shit that story.

Poor guy, holy shit.

Yeah. My dumbass neighbors were shooting them off until midnight last night. I don’t really understand the fireworks love, but I immediately draw a conclusion about a person if I know they’re a fan of personal fireworks. Very sad though for this young athlete.

We had them in our Staten Island neighborhood in the 1970s. My parents forbade me from lighting any, and by the time I was a teenager I was pretty meh over the thought of shooting off firecrackers and bottle rockets.

In high school I was a go-fer in a medical lab in the same building as the ER. Got to help carry in this kid (14?). His group had been throwing CO2 pellet gun cartridges in a fire and then running away. He had one that went through the fat part of his thigh and was sticking out. He was squealing like a pig. Very lucky. Didn’t hit anything but fat and muscle.

Incroyable

3 more wins but hell that were 2 different levels of hockey for long stretches of the game. Weber was lucky his braindead penalty at the end didnt cost them.

Good thing is that the draft class this year is pretty uncertain because of limited playing last season. Also read that the top 2 draft choices consider going back to uni to play NCAA next season.

Insurmountable?

Not one goal. But overall for the series. Yes they are toast.

excited to watch my bolts go back to back. was hoping for a better series, but I’m also not upset to watch them smash the Habs.

yeah will be interesting who they gonna put on LTIR next year to keep the team together. :stuck_out_tongue:

Stamkos was looking like he needed a good long recovery from surgery :innocent:

Congrats to the Bolts. Best team won. Tough and versatile. So much talent.

My feelings are divided. I was so happy when Lehkonen shot us to the SC final. But deep in my heart I always knew this team lacks talent. The defense is garbarge for most parts but this run will ensure that MB and maybe even DD(despite a poor PP, player and line deployment) get resigned. We might have failed on another top10 pick with KK. In the end you need talent and dont overuse guys like Staal for their past performances. There is a 50/50 chance Habs dont make the playoffs next year.

Gallagher was invisible and give how long his contract is you can only hope he was injured and will rebound otherwise you have another Gomez-type situation. We might have the goal scorer but aside from Suzuki there really arent many players who can move the puck and make good passes so you end up with harmless shots from difficult positions.

Pretty anticlimactic expansion draft. Cant imagine living in Seattle waiting for this moment for few years just to realize you will have to wait few drafts to have a fun team.
