The NFL Thread 2: 1. T Swift

Chiefs trying real hard this offseason to become more hated than the late 00’s Pats.

I’ve never heard of this guy before today. I have no idea when we signed him or what he does. Other than abuse dogs of course.

Given what we’ve seen of the police lately I’m willing to take Buggs’ side until there’s further info.

If the dogs were chained to a stake in his backyard for a few hours in the afternoon, and there was any poop in the yard, and they had plenty to eat and drink during that day but had no source of food water within reach, that fits all the facts stated by the police but I don’t think they were abused.

Totally makes sense to me that a city like Tuscaloosa would harass a guy like Buggs and try to smear him and take his dogs.

Not sure I agree with this Sunday ticket ruling - I am thrilled to be able to watch every game?

How long will the appeals process take? Is there a chance us out of market fans can buy a single team package this year?

Can you or any other lawbros explain what happened like I’m 5 years old?

  1. It sounds like the problem was that they only offered it through DTV, so shouldn’t they still be able to offer it, but now you can get it on multiple platforms?

  2. All sorts of TV shows and sporting events are only available on one platform, like Amazon Prime TNF. Is that going away too?

  3. Has NFL said that they are doing away with Sunday Ticket?

  4. I was a Sunday Ticket subscriber for over 20 yrs. I almost never paid for it, I’d just call every year, haggle, and get them to give it to me for free (or sometimes give me other discounts that offset the cost). Does this mean I can get some cash from the settlement? How do I collect?

My understanding is that the issue here is that the 32 teams conspired to coordinate and sell at inflated price through single entity thus eliminating competition. A single entity can generally do this, but the 32 NFL teams can’t. The can do this for normal broadcast rights since they have antitrust exemption, but court found that didn’t apply to Sunday ticket.

They can still do Sunday ticket, just not with no competition.

I thought this only applied to the MLB?

NFL has a narrow one for broadcasting.

So how much will I get? About $3.50?

Just have to give Clarence Thomas box seats and they win the case when it goes to the Supreme Court.
