The NFL Thread 2: 1. T Swift

So, does everyone just use a VPN for everything? Should I be doing this?

Itā€™s not uncommon. Even if you are at home and control your router, your isp can track any unencrypted data. These days the good vpns can and do handle high volumes of traffic.

I guess it depends on how worried you are about your data being exposed.

That being said many sites donā€™t allow vpn access as to protect regional use. Ironically the betting sites are very big on it, and people struggle to use vpns and access those sites. I could see streaming services to do something like that to protect different regions, but the juice is not worth the squeeze.

With a vpn your biggest weakness would be your computer/devices. If compromised all the data could be at risk even if it was being sent securely via vpn. Pretty sure you can get trials from the biggest vpns and see how it impacts your usage.

Thanks. Anyone want to save me an hour and give me a short list of good VPNs with the best combo of cost/security/quality?

I use NordVPN (Plus package) on my 3 computers, android tv and phone. Works like a charm, havenā€™t tried others.

Nord is fine like baddis said. Itā€™s one of the pricier ones though. There are cheaper options out there, especially if you donā€™t mind paying for like 24 months in advance.

Hereā€™s two good lists to start with, Iā€™ve used several and had no issues with nord or surfshark, which is cheaper Best VPN for gaming in 2023 | PC Gamer

The 10 Best VPN Services for 2023 | PCMag oh and just remember, if a site that used to load fine starts loading slowly or not at all like your bank or whatever, itā€™s probably the vpn

ETA I think nord has some of the faster speeds around so maybe better for gaming but going through a UK IP my speedtest looks like this

ETETA thatā€™s with surfshark btw, got the lowest tier package and paid for 24 months up front, it cost less than 2 bones a month and I get 5 devices covered total, PC and/or phone. Thereā€™s also a chrome extension for it you can install on basically any browser and boom vpn on the go

Probability that Jordan Love ends up being a better quarterback than Justin Fields?

the games Fields run game got shut down he was awful as a passer, really needs it to be serviceable as a passer. at least so far anyway

Is the Babylon Bee actually being funny here?

I canā€™t believe how many people are falling for this S2 Cognitive test bullshit. Itā€™s the new scam du jour replacing the Wonderlic, Myers-Briggs, and other unvalidated for-profit scam tests. The only information I can find on it are marketing puff statements by its creator and selectively leaked scores from Twitter beat writer morons that are likely inaccurate (maybe on purpose). Some team like the fucking Patriots is gonna be able to draft Stroud because of it.

Right? I feel like their has to be a way to figure out if someone can handle the task of managing an NFL offense that isnā€™t some lab designed cognition test. Maybeā€¦ did he have an opportunity to run a pro style offense in college and do it well? Did he successfully run a pro style offense in college? When you interviewed him did he seem like he understands football at the level required to succeed? Not how good is he at SAT style pattern and word recognition.

If the NFLPA was not completely incompetent (it is) one of its demands in the next CBA is to shred those stupid tests forever and never let them see the light of day again

That said it wouldnā€™t surprise me if this was another year that the media had higher ratings on these QBs than the teams do. All of these guys are flawed in some way. Bryce is a wee little guy but otherwise seems good. Stroud is probably the most ready to start an NFL game but nothing about his game screams superstar at the next level. Richardson and Levis have all the physical tools to be good but their games need work and who knows they may hit a wall.

Itā€™s that time again.

There have been fewer lol picks lately in the draft. Doubt I can stay awake for them. Giants pick later in the round this time.
