If that’s what they do, then I guess it kind of makes sense. There isn’t enough room to put all the players in first class. And you can’t just give it to some and not others.

Of course, depending on the team and plane there may not be enough room for all the coaches in first class either.

When I was making that response I was under the assumption that it was a standard commercial plane that the team was just hiring for their use. On most normal commercial planes, I don’t think there are 50+ seats in first class. But apparently based on the article, which I still haven’t read because I don’t think the link is working for me for some reason, that’s not the case.

Of course I wouldn’t expect a big dude like that to fit in one seat. He can easily take two. There are plenty of coach seats to spare for that purpose.
