The NFL Thread 2: 1. T Swift

Yeah by dumbasses. I never bought into that. I thought it was just as likely the NFL would actually want to punish the Bills, if anything, for not wanting to finish the game (as a lesson so teams will be more likely to finish in the future).

Cheffers is objectively the most flag-happy ref 2 years running (and 2nd the year before that). He’s the only ref that crushes the spread for underdogs. And he was demonstrably terrible in the TB-KC Super Bowl. Ray Lewis, plenty of other neutral analysts on TV were going nuts about his terrible calls. He clearly had an agenda coming into that game.

I’m not saying the NFL is out to get the Chiefs. But Cheffers seems to have a grudge. And everyone likes a big Mahomes comeback right? Fun for all.

It just shows exactly where the NFL’s head is at that the biggest refball ref of all gets 2 Super Bowls in 3 years (only the 3rd ref in NFL history to do so). They love the controversy. They love a ref that will play ball to deliver close games.

Thankful we’ve got ChiefsPlanet on this case.

Clearly I include a lot of them in the dumbasses.

I kind of forgot about that. I agree at that point you should dial up a good play and go for it.

Cheffers is truly awful but there isn’t any kind of plausible story where the league wants Mahomes to lose.

I feel like it’s worse than this b/c they could have just taken the yards on 3rd and 10 that the defense was conceding to set up a manageable 4th down. We see teams do that all the time in plus territory. I don’t believe for one second that they ever considered this four down territory.

I agree that Fat Mike never was planning on going for it on 4th & long. I do think it threw him for a loop that he wound up with 4th & 10 with a running clock, he was probably hoping to punt it with 2:35ish left or whatever it would have been after an incomplete pass, then hope to get it back in largely the same field position with ~2:00 left, which wouldn’t have been horrific even with no TOs.

But anyway as I said, you’re not giving up a lot of absolute win equity (2%) there even though the relative equity is almost halved. And as you said, the way to fix that is throw it underneath on the play before, and make it 4th & manageable at worst.

Good news for the Chiefs.

Seems like an interesting move:

Maybe the Chiefs were planning on doing some sort of roster dance to clear a spot, possibly signing Lammons to the practice squad and elevating him. There’s some speculation that there was a development in the Alvin Kamara case.

Lammons led the Chiefs in special teams snaps as the gunner. I have no idea how this affects KC special teams, but it will be a talking point if the Chiefs give up a big return.

I can’t imagine he’s going to want to play for Cinci. I get it from a weaken the opponent viewpoint, but for the player it’s a pretty big Dick move, taking him out of the AFC title game.

Lmao that’s like an IRL version of the kind of thing people go postal over in fantasy leagues.

If I want one guy influencing my young qb, it’s Rodgers. All his nonsense will be downloaded right into that malleable brain.

How else is Zach Wilson going to learn how chemtrails affect ball trajectory on a deep out?

#Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy on the type of game they’re in for: “Put your hand in the dirt, knuckle up, 60-minute dog fight. After that If we have to go additional minutes, drink some water, get your kool-aid and hey, we gotta go do it, we gotta fight.”

Every Eric Bieniemy quote ever.

Does he get a Superbowl ring if Cincy wins it?

condolences to Breece and Garrett Wilson

Maybe it’s their master plan to use Hackett to recruit Rodgers - worked out pretty well when Denver did that.

It’s shit like this moreso than the Frank Reich hiring that make me think black coaches don’t get a fair shot. How do these white guys keep getting chance after chance after failing so spectacularly?
