only an absolute moron would be surprised at this going from a loyal fanbase in oakland to the adult entertainment tourist city

There was a legit chance of getting stabbed if you went into Oakland wearing Chiefs or Broncos colors.

NFL all of leagues seems most likely to suffer from this problem too. Tickets are expensive and only on weekends so I’m sure tons of people planning Vegas weekends around their team playing a game. I had assumed that was a reason for moving to Vegas - guaranteed sellouts and possibility to gauge opposing fans.

How do you know? Did you try it?

I assume Chargers gear would be fine because lolChargers.

Chargers has always been a home game for the Chiefs. Now KC fans just travel to LA instead of SD for their nice break from KC winter weather. I went to a bunch of the games at SD. Chargers fans didn’t care. They’re so laid back.

I never went to the black hole, nor did I ever want to. So maybe just the perception of getting stabbed was enough. Like one stabbing every 10 years wields a lot of leverage.

And it was even worse in LA from what I hear. All the gang-bangers loved the Raiders.

I was just wondering if a super Chargers went to a game in OAK wearing a throwback Rivers Jersey. Does he get stabbed or just looked upon with pity?

Probably just spit on a few times and beer thrown on him.

I figured you must have gone to one since you lived in the Bay Area (I think).

Never had any desire to see a Chiefs game there. I did see some As games there.

Come to think of it I was flying out of OAK on the evening of a Vikings Raiders game. Lots of people in Vikings Jerseys at the airport.

And you call yourself a Chiefs fan?

Outside the division isn’t quite the same. The Broncos, Raiders and Chiefs all hate each other with a passion. For some reason the Chargers never get that much hate or hate that much.

Raiders/Chiefs rivalry had legit violence in the 60s through 80s. Ever since then the Raiders mostly are just sad.

Surprised no one poisoned Marcus Allen’s gatorade on his way out.

Not sure what he expected when he moved to Vegas. There are probably tens of thousands of random fans of other teams in town on any given week. Add to that road trip to see your team play AND go to Vegas?

Just don’t know what he thought was going to happen.

He may have gotten the Chargers right!

Sorry, can’t hear you guys over the sound of the AFC South title.

Yeah, one might think the losing record last year was more because of a complete clown show coach.

But in terms of “takes a bit,” you’re more specifically right in that he seemed to take a big leap starting in week 9. Since then the Jags are 7-2, he has 15 TD to just 2 INT, 69.7% completion percentage.

Even for the whole season, before this week’s games have been calculated, he’s in the top ten of every major category basic and advanced. Going into tonight he was:

9th in yards
t-10th in TDs
6th in lowest INT %
4th in lowest sack %
9th in ANY/A
7th in DYAR
10th in DVOA

And he just turned 23 in October. Future’s looking bright.

@Melkerson feel free to offer your apology for calling me a “slappy” anytime.

Let’s get not too crazy here. If I remember correctly, you were telling us that Trevor was the surest thing since Andrew Luck. Yeah, he pulled of a 4th quarter comeback without making a single 1st down and won a division with a second best team that’s 3 games under .500, but I’m not sure we’re in Luck territory yet.

I already did. It was like months ago, dude. Lemme see if I can dig it up for you.

Edit: Here you go. It was like a thousand posts ago:

There is even a fascinating discussion on the term “slappy” that follows if you are interested.
